2010 Secret Garden Tour

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Adelaide’s participated today in the La Jolla Historical Society’s Secret Garden Tour. Adelaide’s created the table decorations for 2 tables at one of the homes. We also decorated another table and fireplace that was tucked back next to the house but that had a wonderful garden view. Here are some photos of what we created. May thanks to our employees Patti and Melissa who created the wonderful look!

Simple and Elegant Wedding

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

So often, brides feel they need to over indulge when it comes to their wedding.  Here are photos from a wedding we designed on March 27, 2010.  These photos show how a simple wedding can be so elegant.  The photos are courtesy of Paul Barnett Photography at www.barnettphoto.com

When designing this style of wedding, flowers are very important.  They are the focal point, even with personal flowers.  Here’s the bride’s bouquet as well as the flower girl’s.

Need a color choice for your wedding?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

The colors a bride chooses for her wedding are a personal choice. Yellow has been a fantastic color lately and we wanted to share some photos of this wedding with you.  Maybe yellow might be in your future….

How The Right Lighting Works With Events

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

One of the most effective and creative ways to add drama to your event is through the use of ambient lighting.  The right lighting can direct your guests attention away from an otherwise unappealing wall, drapes or carpet.  It is one of the most effective design tools used by many designers and event planners.  “Wall washes” in warm colors can transform a cold community hall into a romantic reception venue.  Colored wall washes can also reinforce the color theme of the event.  To add a romantic touch, “pinspot” the florals on your centerpieces.  Lighting your florals in combination with votive candles can create a truly magical setting.

See the difference lighting makes in the photos below.  The first photo has room lights only.  The second has pin lighting and the last is the pin lighting at night.

Something New, Something Blue

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Here at Adelaide’s we are lucky and get to work with many different materials. We used blue “crystals” at a recent charity event.  Here are some photos of what that event looked like.

We have also decided to do a display with the blue “crystals” in our store.  These “crystals” are not really crystals but are round and soft, similar to marbles.  They actually start small and grow when you add water.  You can see the smaller size on the right.  I’ve also included some other colors.

Here is what our great designers have done, incorporating these blue “crystals” into their designs and display.  I hope you like them.

Check out those beautiful blue hydrangeas!  An extra treat…

Here’s a photo of some of our employees.  You can see the designer on the second to the right, creating another “blue” wonder.  Stop by our store to see the crystals in real life.  You’ll be amazed.
